CALL FOR PROPOSALS
Scope -- Special Sessions -- Innovative Practice (IP) Sessions -- Submissions -- Key Dates -- Additional Information -- Committees

Scope

VTS is a premier event organized by IEEE-TTTC in the area of VLSI Test and attracts top-notch tutorials, research papers, panel discussions, & special topic sessions. It provides an excellent opportunity to meet peers and develop professional partnerships. The 28th VLSI Test Symposium will be held in Santa Cruz, California, April 18-21, 2010.

As the coordinators of the Special Sessions and Innovative Practice Sessions being held at VTS 2010, it is our pleasure to invite proposals from VLSI professionals. These sessions must be directly related to the area of VLSI Test, e.g. a session can be created on a special topic related to System-level Test/Debug, Yield Improvement, Analog/RF Test, etc. A special session may be an embedded tutorial on a hot topic, a panel discussion on a burning issue, or a paper presentation session.

Special Sessions

top

- Embedded Tutorial Session - You may propose a 60-minute session with 1 or 2 tutorial presentations. The person making the proposal may be a speaker or the coordinator who invites the speakers. The proposal must include the title of the session, the profile of the session coordinator, the titles and 200-word abstracts of the tutorials, and profiles of speakers.

- Panel Discussion - You may propose a 60-minute or 90-minute session where a panel consisting of 3 to 4 experts present their views and debate on a topic of interest to the test community. Purely technical and semi-technical topics are both acceptable. If you have other creative ideas, we are open-minded! The proposal must include the topic of the panel discussion, the expected duration, the profile of the moderator and the panelists.

- Paper Session - You may propose a 60-minute session and invite 2 or 3 speakers to make invited presentations on a special topic. Please avoid making a proposal on a mature topic that attracts regular sessions in the symposium, such as Low Power Test or ATPG. The proposal must include the title of the session, the profile of the session coordinator/chair, the title and abstract of each paper along with speaker profiles.

Innovative Practice (IP) Sessions

top

- Paper Session - You may propose a 60-minute session and invite 3 speakers to make invited presentations on a topic in practical use. Not only hot topics, such as low power test, defect-based testing, high-speed I/O test, and so on, but also regular topics are welcome. The proposal must include the title and the abstract of the session, and the names and affiliations of the prospective speakers.

Submissions

top

IEEE TTTC recognizes the best special session and the best IP session of the VLSI Test Symposium through an award, which is presented during the following year.

The person who proposes a session takes the responsibility of contacting the prospective presenters. If the session gets approved, it is assumed that all presenters and the session coordinator will register and attend VTS 2010 and conduct the session. Please note that VTS 2010 cannot provide registration waivers or travel/stay support to the invited speakers. Technical papers that are part of the special session will be published in VTS proceedings. Abstracts of the tutorials, panel discussions and IP sessions will also be published.

Please submit your proposal at the VTS website before November 30, 2009. Please login as an author and select Special Session or IP Session. All proposals will be reviewed and decisions will be communicated by Jan 31, 2010.  The VTS organizing committee reserves the right to suggest the duration of the session (60 minutes, 75 minutes, or 90 minutes) for special sessions. The proposers of accepted sessions are expected to send their confirmations before Feb 15, 2010, and later work with VTS committee by providing the necessary information for the proceedings.
